Josh Empson is a managing director of Providence Equity Partners, a global private equity firm focused on technology, media and telecommunications with more than $50 billion in assets under management. At Providence, Josh focuses on media, with particular emphasis on sports and entertainment. He is a current director of NFL/PEP Ventures and was a previous director of Learfield and MLS Media before Providence's successful exit from those investments in October 2016 and June 2017, respectively. Prior to joining Providence in 2013, Mr. Empson was a partner at NantCapital, an investment firm he co-founded, focused on media, mobile technology and healthcare software and services. Previously, he was a managing director at Forstmann Little & Co. where he led several investments in media and sports, including the firm's investment in IMG Worldwide, now part of WME-IMG. Prior to Forstmann, he held various positions at United Online and NBC. Mr. Empson received a Bachelor of Arts from Princeton University. He lives and works in New York City with his wife and their two children.
