Bill Luby co-founded Seaport Capital in 1997 and has served as its Managing Partner since that time. Mr. Luby has been investing in private equity for over 25 years, with a primary focus on the communications, business services, information services and media sectors. He currently sits on the Board of many Seaport portfolio companies including Equinix, FTJ Fundchoice, Logicworks, B-Media and Teamworks. Previous Board positions have included American Tower Corp., Derby County Football Club, Narragansett Beer, Mandalay Baseball and Switch and Data Facilities.
Prior to starting Seaport Capital, Bill was a Managing Director at Chase Capital – the private equity arm of the Chase Manhattan Bank – from 1991-1996. Prior to that, Mr. Luby was a Managing Director in the leveraged finance group at Chase Manhattan.
Bill holds an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business (Daytime ’85), where he currently serves on the Board of Visitors, and a BA in Economics from Trinity College (’81). Bill served on Fuqua’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation Board from 2008-2016.
Bill and his wife Eileen are the parents of four children and reside in Rumson, N.J.
